Entities Agree to Divide Elektroprenos Profits After EU Talks – BalkanInsight

The prime ministers of Republika Srpska and the Federation met with EU officials this week to discuss issues related to energy and EU accession. The most important issue under discussion was the distribution of profits from energy company Elektroprenos, which is owned jointly by the two entities. The EU had insisted that all profits be invested in the energy infrastructure, while the entity governments wanted to use a portion of the money for their own budgets. The agreement reached in Brussels allows the entities to take out smaller shares of the funds, while reserving the bulk of Elektroprenos profits for energy-related projects.
