The leader of the Croat Democratic Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) Dragan Covic told N1 that there is no possibility for the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, to impose a decision that would resolve the political crisis in the country. Covic stated that it appears “no one appointed Schmidt,” thereby indirectly supporting the position of the authorities in BiH’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, who claim that Schmidt is a “fake” High Representative.
According to N1, “Covic argued that BiH cannot continue on its path toward EU membership if there are ‘“’governing structures that operate outside the Constitution.'”
