HR Blames Politicians for Lack of Progress in UN Report – OHR

High Representative Valentin Inzko gave his regular report the United Nations Security Council in New York today. In it, he accused BiH politicians of putting their own “personal interests before those of the country and its citizens.” In keeping with his previous reports, HR Inzko singled out the leadership of Republika Srpska for criticism, accusing them of “challenges to the Peace Agreement,” while refusing to aim such accusations at other groups within BiH.

The High Representative also used the report to make the case for OHR’s continued presence in BiH. “Stressing that the job in Bosnia and Herzegovina is “not yet complete”, the High Representative called on the international community to stand together in support of the values and principles of peace, co-existence, mutual respect and the sanctity of sovereign states.”
