High-level meetings are ongoing between the major political parties in FBiH in order reach a compromise on a number of contentious issues, foremost among them the formation of a new Council of Ministers. The leaders of the SDP, SDA, and HDZ parties all expressed optimism about the negotiations, though no specific agreements have been announced.

The HDZ parties, as the largest Croat majority parties in BiH, are asserting their right to name the next nominee for head of the Council of Ministers. The HDZs have the support of the major parties in Republika Srpska; reaching an agreement with the SDP and SDA would be a significant step toward forming a Council of Ministers, though the distribution of seats may still be problematic.
