Dodik Criticizes Handling of Oric Case – BalkanInsight

Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik called the BiH Prosecutor’s indictment of Naser Oric “a farce,” and said that BiH is not serious about bringing the wartime Bosniak commander to justice. Mr. Oric has been charged with crimes relating to the deaths of three Serb prisoners in 1992, though he is suspected of involvement in many more war crimes. Oric was arrested earlier this year in Switzerland on a Serbian warrant, but was ultimately extradited to BiH. President Dodik said that if BiH were serious about seeking justice, rather than protecting Oric, they would have allowed him to stand trial in Serbia.

“If all the state-level judiciary cares about is justice, then why didn’t they let Serbia prosecute Oric, instead of this case we have now, where in the end he will be set free because there will be no evidence and no witnesses, since they have all died,” Dodik said.
