Mostar to Miss Elections After Parliament Fails to Amend Law – BalkanInsight

The BiH House of Representatives failed to agree on changes to the electoral law for the city of Mostar on Wednesday. BiH Constitutional Court rulings in past years have necessitated changes to the law; as it stands now, the city’s electoral system gives Bosniak residents disproportionate representation on the city council. The BiH House of Peoples recently approved a new system, which the House of Representatives did not approve.

Without the required changes to the law, Mostar will not be able to hold elections along with the rest of BiH in October.
