Dodik Says Promise of Reforms Could Forestall Referendum – Oslobodenje

Speaking to press today, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that the RS could call off its planned referendum if other stakeholders set clear goals for the reform of the judiciary. Mr. Dodik said that an upcoming planning meeting for the EU-sponsored Structural Dialogue, scheduled for September 10, would be the ideal venue for such a plan to be agreed to.

“If clearly set goals for the four conditions of RS are not set, the referendum will be held,” said Dodik.

He told RTRS that RS expects the BiH Court and Prosecutor to be independent in processing perpetrators of war crimes, through changes in the criminal code, and the BiH Court in processes cannot be retroactive in applying the law.
