The appellate chamber of the Court of BiH delivered guilty verdicts in the retrials of three Bosniak former officers for crimes committed against Croat prisoners in 1993 and 1994.
Under the first-instance verdict in November 2011, [Senad] Dautovic was sentenced to 13 and [Nisvet] Gasal to six years in prison, while [Musajb] Kukavica was acquitted of the charges.
But this verdict was overturned and they were retried because they had been wrongly sentenced under the 2003 Bosnian criminal code, which was brought in after they committed the crimes, instead of the potentially more lenient Yugoslav-era code.
